Pussy Bow.....Yes Please!

Whether or not this word needs to be hyphenation, or not (yes I thought about it), I am drawn to this style for fall.  It is vintage-like era 1960, and reminds me of all of these commercials I am seeing for the new Pan Am show on ABC.  Besides the fact that it is just so damn funny to say, and I want to ask someone if they like my "Pussy Bow???" Just to see a reaction.  LOL's all around.

Inspiration

I get a ton of inspiration for outfits from other bloggers, which is part of the fun of following blogs and finding people with different, or even similar style to your own.

This outfit was totally inspired by Sonia of Anomalous Allure's post "Pretty in Paisley." I had never thought of tucking a scarf into a belt, but it's totally genius. Especially for someone who wants to accentuate their waist... such as yours truly. So here's my take, without much deviation to be honest, inspired by Sonia's blog post.

Jeans: Ross
Black Long Sleeve Shirt: Random Discount Clothing Store in Turlock, Ca
Bird Scarf: H&M
Brown Braided Belt: Target
Cognac Boots: Target
Gold Stud Earrings: H&M

Close-Ups:

I looove this scarf. Its very sheer and feminine. Plus, I love anything with birds.

I've been really into setting my nails off by painting my ring finger a different color. I'm usually pretty conservative with my color choices (ie no alternating pink and purple or teal), and I've really been digging pairing Rimmel's Steele Gray with black (Wet n Wild Black pictured here).

I like a wide braided belt, and it's really versatile as far as being able to dress it up or down.

Ohhh... and by the way Nina Ricci is now sold at Target. Which is exciting, since I've found it to be hard to track down at times. Definitely worth a sniff if you've never tried it. Jude introduced me to it, and that girl's got a nose that never fails. She always has the best smelling perfume.

I've been growing my hair out, and I recently went a little richer brown than my natural color. I've been keeping the bangs shaggy though... as an ode to my absolute style love Zooey Dechanel. Le sigh.

Online Shopping Steals

This week as a heads up this is what I have found online as steals.

Target is buy one get one half off with Handbags and Shoes.  You can mix and Match! Go Here to check it out.

My fav pics from this sale are:
Cognac Messenger Bag

Yellow Wedges

I really love these.  They would really complement my wardrobe because I have a very plain and simple style. These would go perfectly with Dark jeans and just a boyfriend tee.  It is the perfect mix of color and design.

Black/Brown Wedges

X bought these and I love them.  I am very tempted to buy them, but I want to hear from her about how they feel after wearing them for  a while.  Also I want PICS! hahaha

Clutch/Crossbody

Hello! This is a steal at $6.98! I own this in a cream color and it is just great! You can use it as a clutch and remove the straps or put the strap on and use it as a crossbody purse.  It is big enough to hold a lot of stuff but not too big so that it is cumbersome.  Love it!  And if you buy it with another bag or shoes it will only be $3.49! Bam! What a steal!

Neutral Bangles

I have this obsession with bracelets lately.  And I have been looking for neutral colors, since they will match with a lot and be able to work with a lot of outfits.  Good news I found some! BINGO!

Which would also go well with this Camel Top from Asos or this Blue Top from Asos as well.

Trending for Spring

Although, nudes were a huge trend for summer and beige/camel was a huge trend for the winter, I feel that neutrals/neutral accessories are trending for the spring. I am really loving pastel bangles and earrings, like from F21 below.  I also found this nude boyfriend top for $11! It is so versatile and cheap I love it!!

Work Clothes

Due to my new hectic schedule of work, study, work, study, work work work, study study study... I need new work clothes!! Duh!  I have found it very hard to find fashionable/comfortable work clothes is plus size.  Many of the work pants come way above the belly button.  But I have survived nonetheless.  I have found that dresses work very well and are very flattering.  And also reasonably priced! (most $40 and under at Ross, TJ maxx or Marshalls or Ebay)  But recently I found something incredibly hot that I want, yet is $130.

The dress alone is a little too sexy for work, but if you keep the jacket on it is perrrrrfect~!! Also it would be great for an after work date, to just take the jacket off.

Cravings

I've been searching for some autumn pieces and I've run across some definite fall cravings that I thought I'd share.

Burgundy

I love this faux leather wrinkled jacket from Faith 21 in burgundy.

How I'd wear it: with a simple white tee, as pictured, with denim jeggings and cognac colored boots.

School Sweaters

School Sweaters like this Prep School Sweater Cardigan from Forever 21

How I'd wear it: tucked into a floral skirt, navy blue tights and black flats, or paired with cropped jeans, a skinny tie, big champagne stone-colored earrings and brown oxfords.

Berets and Slouchy Beanies

Like this mustard yellow knit beanie from Forever 21

How I'd wear it: with any and everything, for a pop of color. I already have a beanie just like this one, in mustard yellow and it brings fun to any outfit.

Panchos

I tend to stay away from thick cable knit, since it doesn't really flatter me, but I think I may have to rethink my aversion for this Old Navy Cape

How I'd wear it: paired with skinny jeans and slouchy faux suede black boots, or black leggings and a funky shoe (flat or heel).

Feel free to add some of your own inspiration/cravings :)
