Tweed

Thick slice of tweed... shorts, that is.

XL Tweed Shorts: Faith 21
L White T-Shirt: Forever 21- Heritage Line (proof that tags are not always true!)

Black Faux Suede Slouchy Boots: Target

Black Tights: Target

Necklace: Forever 21

Glasses: Anne Klein

I, in all honesty, have not bought shorts since at least 2000. But after seeing Lilli of Frocks and Frou Frou's post on shorts with tights, I was ready to break my decade long shorts drought. A huge thank you to Lilli for the inspiration!

I also tried on a pair of Faith 21 houndstooth shorts, but since they were lined, they did not sit flatteringly on me, so I opted for the non-lined pair, which I feel like accentuated, rather than distorted, my curves.

Here's a close up of the fabric of the shorts; a little wrinkled (sorry!).

I'm sort of obsessed with this nail polish (Wicked from Ulta). I've had it for months, but now it's getting a second wind... all despite neutrals being where's it's at right now. I just love it. It's a little darker than pictured.

This is my little, not-too-literal, tribute to The Beatles (think Strawberry Fields). It's feminine and a just a little funky.

This is the Faith 21 belt that came with the tweed shorts pictured above. The belt just so happens to match a pair of cognac-colored boots that I have, so I am excited about mixing this belt with other outfits (to come!).

These boots from Target are really comfortable, and very versatile. They work with shorts, skirts, and over skinny jeans. The calves are also fairly wide, if you have the same problem I have finding mid-calf boots that fit correctly.

Thank you so much for checking out the blog! We really appreciate it!\

Beijos!

  2. @Gazel- You would look fab in this, for sure! I also thought about losing the tights and boots and going for oxfords with this outfit. I can thank Jennifer at http://bigsuitblog.blogspot.com/ for that wonderful idea, although I have yet to find some oxfords.

Also, thank you so much for reading and commenting. I've been looking at your blog, and I really dig your style!
