So, this is the real life version of an outfit I posted last week ("Who, Me?" made on polyvore). I feel like I could wear this to school with some ballet flats, then change into these heels for dinner with friends. Maybe a movie and then coffee shop date. Maybe even Sunday Brunch.
I feel like this is the right amount of casual and fun, with the structure of the blazer and the pop of color from the shoes.
Boyfriend T-Shirt: Target
Jeans: Old Navy Diva Cut (the Diva cut runs small- I always go up a size)
Blazer: I found this blazer at "Mrs. Plus"- a plus size store in a strip mall in Santa Ana, Ca (for $21.99). Further proof that there is good stuff in unlikely places!
Clutch: I got this at a wholesale fashion convention in San Francisco- I think it was called "Sheckey's Girls Night Out"
Shoes: Carlos Santana via Ross
Necklace: Target
Ring: Forever 21 (came in a set of 3)

Now for some close ups...
I just bought these shoes. They are sort of a red-orange color, which I like, because I think red would be a bit much with all of the other stuff going on with these shoes. I loved the teardrop shaped cut-outs on the side, I think it gives them a fun, retro-type flair.
Also, I'm short (5'3) so I usually try to avoid ankle straps because they tend to make my legs look shorter, but the criss-cross front on these don't cut me off at all. Looks like I just expanded my shoe horizons!
The necklace was inexpensive, so it's tarnished a little, but I like the sort of worn look of it now.
The inside of the blazer is lined with the same striped silky material- as seen on the cuffs. The store had the exact same blazer in gray... seriously regret not picking that one up too. It's really comfortable, and so versatile.
Thanks for reading. Beijos.

@Eve- Thank you so much! Of course, I'll head over soon to check yours out!
ReplyDeleteWow, loving your blazer. Think a blazer would be an amazing addition to my wardrobe, however whenever I try one on, it just doesn't seem to work :( It just gives you such a nice shape - and love with the cropped jeans and heels. Classy :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the Beatles post... Will have to pop over to Liverpool and check it out - amazing!
@ Gypsy- Why, thank you! I really do love this blazer, it's a nice alternative to my old stand-by cardigan. I'm sure there's a blazer out there with your name all over it, I really just lucked out finding one with good proportions. It only has one button, so I think that helps as far as creating a nice hourglass-type silhouette.
ReplyDeleteI do need to get to Liverpool. I have been to Abbey Road, and did the mandatory crossing, but didn't make it over to take the tour in Liverpool. Someday hopefully! Looks like you had a great time. The energy there must be truly amazing.
