Men... Menswear inspiration, that is

There is a thrift store not too far from my house that I have been itching to try. I checked up on it again recently on yelp only to learn that on Saturdays nearly everything in the store, including their entire second floor consisting only of vintage clothes mind you, was 1/2 off. That's certainly enough reason for me to get up early on a Saturday!

So, I drove on down and picked up a wool skirt and this vest- which came from the men's vintage section- to pair with oxfords I bought last week at Target.

The result: a simple menswear inspired look, with a little feminine flair in the form of a Forever 21 ring and braided hair.

Men's Vest: thrifted
Black Shirt: Licorice via Macy's
Cropped Jeans: Old Navy, Diva cut
Brown Two-Tone Oxfords: Target
Ring: Forever 21

The dusky pictures didn't pick up the great liner color on the vest. It's a little darker than champagne-colored.

I love everything about this vest, right down to the buttons!

Close up of the Oxfords. They are faux suede and super comfortable (and under $20).

I thought a feminine chunky ring would bring an interesting balance to the outfit, even though it stays (sort of) within the color palette I was working with. I can't get enough of this lovely color either.

I have been searching for a lilac/pale pink colored nail polish in stores because I can't justify paying for shipping that equals the cost of the OPI nail polish that I have been eyeing. I ran across this Sally Girl nail polish while Jude and I were searching for dye and conditioner. The color doesn't have a name, I think because it's just the store brand, and they only come in tiny little bottles for 49-99 cents, but this was exactly what I was looking for.

I also thought that some small braids might also be a contrast to this masculine style.

So sorry we've been lagging on the posts. We've been trying to catch up on life since we've been holed up in the library for most of the summer.

Thanks for reading! Beijos!
