(Early) Autumn

It's not quite autumn yet, and well, it's never quite autumn in Southern California, but I decided to break out one of my favorite autumn accessories, the beret, for some early morning shopping.

There's not a whole lot to this outfit, it's just simple and comfortable for running around a bit, but because I was having a... shall we say... interesting hair day this morning, it dawned on me to dust off an old friend in the form of this wool beret. I have the feeling I will be buying more berets this season in different colors, although I have a large collection of beanies in all sorts of colors.

I didn't realize that most of this outfit came from Target until I sat down to write this post. Living on a student's budget will do that to a girl, er, lady.

There's a tie front detail to this floral dress, which actually consists of a sheer floral overlay and a black slip dress, which this necklace fells right into and I liked the idea that it was a little shrouded in this floral bow.




Feeling somewhere between Paris and Haight Street.


Beanies and berets are definitely my go-to for autumn and winter. What are your tried and true or favorite accessories for those chilly months?
