While I still don't have much in the way of new and exciting outfits to show off. I did make some recent purchases on Etsy that I am really excited about. I've got love for all things vintage, and dreaming up outfits have provided sweet little study breaks so far.
First, I bought a DIY ("do it yourself") angled black birdcage veil kit from Etsy shop Hair Accessories for the Brave. The kit is pictured below (photo credit to Hair Accessories for the Brave shop) in white, although the one I purchased is black. I think it'll be a fun project to measure and sew the veil into place myself- that way I can customize it, to a certain extent.
This is really what I have in mind for the finished product (which is why I looked for a kit with angled veil instructions). I just love Lily Allen, I find her style really inspiring... yes... even that pink dress with the deer on it. Ah-dorable.
I also purchased a vintage Montgomery Ward dress from Individjuli's Etsy Shop. This dress (photo credit to Individjuli's Etsy shop) is already in the mail, and I'm on pins and needles waiting for it! Seems like a very versatile piece that can be dressed up and dressed down easily. And the color is really lovely, I think. Hopefully I will get a chance to take a break after getting both of these items, so you can take a peek!
As you can see, from previous posts, and now this one, I am a huge fan of Etsy. I really respect that there is a community out there for people who are creative and/or want to help people (like me) become exposed to fabulous items they wouldn't find otherwise. If you have any favorite Etsy shops, don't be shy to post them in the comments... I would love your suggestions!
Thanks for reading. Beijos.

I love that! I saw some cool veils like that at hot topic but it had a little top hat attached...this will be really cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am really excited about it. I like the idea of just the simple veil, but I also figured that if I wanted to add some kind of fascinator, like a little top hat, or flowers, etc. that I could easily incorporate that... and that would allow me to change things out, according to my outfit. I'm always after versatility!
