I'm a huge fan of accessories: jewelry, belts, hats, glasses, purses. I think accessories can completely dictate the tone of an outfit, so I decided to do a post using different accessories on the same basic outfit (which I happened to wear out to Happy Hour with some girlfriends).
The outfit also shows off my two new favorite things, Old Navy cropped jeans and a one-shoulder slouchy sweater from H&M.
Cropped Jeans: Old Navy, Diva Cut
Grey Sweater: H&M
Black Belt: H&M
Ring: Claire's
Shoes: Preview International via Nordstrom Rack
Glasses: Forever 21
The belt here gives definition to my waist and because of the structure it creates in an otherwise flowy sweater, I feel like this is the more polished looking outfit of the two.
I looooove this belt from H&M. The sort of ruffle detail sold me on it immediately. And the clasp is different and adds a little bit of interest.
The "buckle"
The ring looks diy/hand painted and while I wish there were some awesome street vendor/my own painting abilities back story here... there totally isn't... it's from Claire's and I've had it just about forever.
Jeans, Sweater, Shoes, Glasses: Same as above
Pearls: Torrid
There's a lack of structure here since the sweater is so oversized, but I thought some long pearls would suit it nicely. I was flipping through a fashion book just passed on to me from a friend and I came across a Gap ad with Kim Basinger wearing a baggy t-shirt with long long pearls, and pow, inspiration! So simple. Although, I must admit, I feel a little bit like Madonna meets Flashdance. What can I say? I <3 the 80s.
I actually bought these pearls for a formal occasion and I usually wear them as a single strand with the knot tied at about the bottom quarter of where it hangs.
Oh, how I wish my turntable worked. Until I find one that actually plays my records, it's a handy pedestal.
I wore these blush colored shoes on graduation with a navy dress, and the fact that I can pair them with jeans and a slouchy sweater makes me feel totally justified in spending some extra cash on them. At least that's what I'm going to continue to tell myself.
Thanks for reading!
Beijos!
