Birdcaged

I finally got around to putting together the diy veil kit I got off of Etsy... now I just need somewhere to wear out this little piece of vintage flair!

A view of the finished product

Well... it's not the neatest job, but I threaded the wire through the veil and hair clip just about a million times, so that it would never, literally never, come loose :)

To secure it in place, I just tease my hair a little where I'll be positioning the clip, to create some texture (basically a tiny messy bird's nest for the clip to get stuck in)

This is me trying to channel some old Hollywood siren, or Lauren Bacall in The Big Sleep. Humphrey Bogart is sort of my dream man, so I think pretending to be the raspy voiced Bacall isn't too bad of an idea.

I didn't get a fascinator to go with the veil, but I was thinking of adding some small silk flowers to my hair when I actually get around to wearing this veil out somewhere. I have a black set of rose hair clips from H&M similar to a coral pair that I have posted with another outfit... so we shall see!

Just for fun I tried it out with my hair up, with the veil centered on my head, as opposed to positioned to the side, so that it is angled across my face.

Thanks for reading! Beijos!

  1. If Humphrey Bogart doesn't qualify as a "dream man" than I don't know who does.
